A new project

Okay, so here's the main reason this site hasn't been updated very often, if at all, over the last 2 months (until today): Have been busy with renewed nest-building activities. Specifically, renovations of the guest room so it could double as an office as well as a place for storing & preserving the family photos I inherited after Mom died. Among other things, this entailed expanding storage capabilities by "building" — well, really, putting together — some pre-fab storage cubes with drawers (from Target) and then beginning to unpack & sort the photos.

The ultimate goal is to create an electronic "home" or archive for them that's accessible to the whole family — whenever they choose to go online. And now, after some weeks designing/building a Family Photo Archive web site, I'm deep in the midst of scanning & uploading photos to their new home (when I'm not unfortunately obsessing over the upcoming election, that is). And ready to debut the site, which you can check out here.

It's a big project & it's going to take me a very long time to get 'em all up there. Taking it one photo at a time, scanning & uploading a couple every day. That way I may be able to finish the project in just a couple (or a few?) years...yikes!! With the hope that this will be a family-wide project, your input on this Archive is requested. There is much I don't know & many photos I may not be able to identify (as to subject, time & place), so you are invited to post a comment on the site or email me & I will incorporate as much of your info as the site & time allows....
