Frigid...
Did I declare 5 days ago that Winter had arrived? Well, that was nothing compared to this: It was 7° when I got up this morning & it has climbed all the way up to 10° now. And that's without considering the wind chill (a mere -1°). Yikes! No, I'm not ready for this. Although did get 3 vital windows winterized yesterday. Just in time, thanks to Paul(Gretchen's mate)'s expert help. It's amazing what a bit of hearty plastic & double-sided tape can do. But was ready for the Weather Channel's predicted heavy lake-effect snow. Which never came, at least not yet. Got a heavy ½-inch dusting of powdered sugar snow instead. Which candied-sweet look hardly matches the hard temperature. Not fair, not fair at all.
It didn't get this cold this early last winter. Which is probably not a good sign. Perhaps it's time for me to scan & upload those photos I found of Mom & Dad's winter on the farm up in Springville, NY...you know, the one in the hills near Buffalo, that got all that lake-effect snow. In order to ward off (or brace for) the coming snows here.
