Spring sprout

After 5 days of slowly moderating temps — by this weekend it was up to 40s by day & high 20s low 30s by night — & no new snow (yay!), I think the new season has finally, thankfully begun. And Buffy seems to agree with me: she's been venturing out into the backyard for 10-15 mins. at a time (that's after not daring the outdoors, except for the relative protection of the front porch, for 4 mos.), where she's tracking the shrinkage of snow.

Meanwhile, during a late afternoon stroll around & about yesterday, Buffy & I discovered something new & green beside the house. I couldn't believe it, something green & actually growing. I don't know what it is — don't remember anything growing in that spot last year, so maybe it's a "volunteer" plant or just onion grass? — but will be carefully monitoring its progress.
