July???
You're wondering what happened to May in my life? Never mind June? When it's just become July?!? Really?? Geez oh man. Where've I been, huh? Well, here. Really. And I've got the pictures to prove it. If I ever get around to processing them, that is. Sigh.
I just haven't been able to get everything going all at once, but seem to jump from one thing to the other, with long & short pauses in between things.
I mean, I take lots of photos. And pause before reviewing them and pause again before processing them. This is absolutely necessary as I almost never like them when I first see them. Because the ones I think I'm shooting almost never turn out the way I expect. And then there's the time-consuming task of going through them to weed out the out-of-focus & over-or-under-exposed ones, never mind the badly composed ones.
'Cause the act of taking digital photos is almost too easy, in the sense of enabling pushing that shutter button while knowing no film is being wasted & so only being limited by the size of the memory card. It's the act of choosing them that's hard. Deciding which ones are good, seeing which ones are good. The processing part, that is, doing some sharpening & color-correcting & exposure-adjusting, is easy after that.
And then I teach myself some new web tricks, implement them on a test site or somebody's new website, and then pause before deciding whether or not they were worth it. And give Joseph's site a complete re-design. Pause. And finish a site for my friend & yoga therapist Gretchen. Pause. And noodle around on the computer some more. Pause. And assist Mac with his computer. Pause.
And then plant a hydrangea (with Lois' invaluable assistance) next to the garage next to the flowerbed, which I'm happy to report mostly survived the winter in good health — only 4 of the 20-some plants failed to re-emerge (2 gaillardias & 2 mulleins) & only 1 didn't make it through the spring (the sole surviving gaillardia). And then buy 12 baskets of annuals for the deck. Pause. And engage in a battle of wits with the nasty starlings that took over my bird feeders, searching obsessively for the one true starling-proof feeder. Pause.
Hannah!
