House sparrow

I've been trying to get a detailed, clear photo of one of these most-frequent visitors for a very long time. Their brown & black earth tones (thus, lack of contrast) posed a digital-camera challenge. This shot, thanks to the new telephoto lens for my dslr that arrived today, has an almost-painted quality that seems surreal.
