Buffy's eye

This shot was pure serendipity. I'd just wanted to get a good closeup of her poor eye, ideally without using the flash. But there wasn't enough light in the room for that. Instead, the flash illuminated something I'd only previously seen when the vet pointed it out: the dark oval within the pupil which, besides the obvious discolored iris, is striking evidence of the cancer/tumor cells growing deep inside the eye.
